Sol Digital — ROSCA Fintech Platform

Context

In Haiti, a sol (or sabotay) is a rotating savings group: members contribute regularly and each one receives the pot in turn. This trust-based system is still mostly managed by hand.

Problem

Tracking turns and contributions, collecting payments and assessing participants’ reliability takes a lot of work and leaves room for mistakes and disputes. The tool also has to work without a permanent connection.

Solution

• Management of a sol’s turns and contributions.
• Mobile payments with MonCash and NatCash.
• Offline-first operation, then synchronisation.
• Credit scoring of participants.
• Built with Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, REST APIs and Docker.

Results

• Sol Digital is in production.
